Magnetic Latching Indicator
Ideal for Medical Electronics Applications
ROLLING MEADOWS, ILLINOIS, USA. L-3 Communications,
Electrodynamics has introduced a new magnetic latching nonvolatile
indicator designed for extremely severe environments. The
CI 25 is a printed circuit board mount indicator that can
survive an autoclave environment that has temperatures in
excess of 132° C with 100% RH under 30 PSI. The indicator's
molded rotor magnet changes position when energized with a
50 ms or longer pulse and exposes an extremely visible high
contrast color even in high ambient light.
The CI 25 is a miniature single coil magnetic
latching nonvolatile drum indicator, ideal for severe electronic
applications where latching memory is desirable but high humidity
or steam is present. The CI 25 was designed to survive multiple
autoclave cycles without degradation to the magnetic characteristics,
the material, or the medical-grade inks used.
When the indicator coil is energized with a
pulse of 50 ms or longer, the highly visible drum changes
position and latches to the magnetic core. The drum will remain
magnetically latched to the core in the position last pulsed.
Even if the fault signal is removed, the indicator will "remember"
that a fault had occurred.
The CI 25 comes standard in 3, 6, or 12 VDC
operating voltage configurations with customized voltage ranges
available. Dielectric Strength is 100V rms. Operating temperature
range is
-40°C to +134°C. Expect 500,000 cycles operating
life.
Colors available are red, yellow, green and
white standard against a black surface that provides excellent
color contrast.
Samples available 2 weeks; production lead
time 4-6 weeks after receipt of order.
